To condemn the attack on the court premises that happened on February 19, 2009, the lawyers boycotted courts on Friday. Since February 19 falls on a Sunday, the lawyers decided to stay away from the courts on Friday which was a working day.

Advocates were seen wearing black badges and the protest was led by MHAA president G Mohanakrishnan seeking the arrest of the police personnel involved in the incident.
