  Italy seeks joint probe in fishermen killing case

The ruthless killing of two fishermen on the seas near Kerala by the crew on board Italian ship Enrica Lexie has taken a new turn with the Italian authorities seeking a joint probe. The Italian external minister Giulio Terzi wrote a letter to Indian foreign minister S M Krishna seeking a joint probe. The Indian office has made it clear that there is no scope for joint probe now. The ministry also has made it clear that the two have to cooperate with the local police.

 

The incident has come under the scanner and defense minister A K Antony condemning the incident and said that appropriate action will be taken.
