  Lack of takers in Management Colleges leads to closure

The once lucrative MBA programme has no takers these days forcing business schools to close their shutters. There are around 3,900 management schools with over 3.95 lakh seats. The institutions are feeling the heat as there are no takers.

 

Around 65 business schools are planning to shut down following the fallout of the course among the students. These institutes will now be using their premises for other ventures. Commenting on this S S Mantha, chairman All-India Council for Technical Education said that Management Institutes in remote locations and poor quality of teaching and infrastructure is the reason for poor turnover.
