Maneka Gandhi receives Rukmini Award

Rukmini Devi Animal Welfare Award will be awarded to Maneka Gandhi by eminent scientist Dr MS Swaminathan on January 30 at a function organised by the Rukmini Devi Arundale Trust and the C P Ramaswami Aiyar Foundation. The award consists of Rs 5,00,000 and a citation.

Maneka Gandhi will also receive the lifetime achievement award from the Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisation. Gen Kharb, chairman of the Animal Welfare Board of India, will also be honoured for his contribution to animal welfare.
