Three teenage girls were tied to a lamp post and beaten brutally when they were allegedly caught stealing. They were accused of stealing Rs 1000 from a textile shop in Salem, Tamil Nadu. After the savage beating, the police intervened and took the trio to the hospital.

According to the cops, the store owner said that the  girls had come to pick up some clothes they had given for stitching some days back. Since he had not seen them in the store before, he had gone to check with his wife and in his absence they made off with the money. Since it was a small amount he did not file a police complaint but when he spotted them after the incident, he sounded an alert and the local people caught them and punished them.
