New immigration rules in the UK may see Indian returning to their homeland once their work visa expires. Earlier non-EU professionals working in the UK were allowed to settle in the country if they had completed five years of stay. Now the David Cameron government has decided to put an end to this law.

Home Secretary Theresa May announced in a Conservative party conference in Manchester that non-EU professionals have to leave the country once their work visa expires thereby curtailing the chance of settling down in the country. May also added that immigrants committing crime will be immediately deported.

Immigration Minister Damian Green stated that students who have genuine interest to study only will be allowed a student’s visa and those who come on student visa with an intention to work will not be tolerated.
