  Bird sanctuary to be open from Saturday

Birds from far and wide have started to pour into the Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary located 80 km from Chennai. The park will be open from Saturday for the public. Birds from Siberia, the painted strokes has already arrived and other species spotted in the sanctuary were Little Cormorant, Night Heron, Grey Heron, Spoon Bill, Large Egret, White Ibis, Cattle Egret, Pintail, Pond Heron, Pintail, among others have made their way to the sanctuary for nesting.

 

The sanctuary is ready to accommodate birds and visitors say officials, as the work of temporary and permanent towers are complete. The authorities have also added several fishes into the lakes that the birds feed on.
