A noted social worker, Alikuya was attacked
by rowdy elements on Friday. He is a well
known social worker who helps accident victims,
arranges for burial of unclaimed bodies and
also aids the poor and the needy in the Perambur
locality. On Friday some unidentified men
attacked him and in the event both his arms
were broken, he sustained head injuries too.
He is admitted at Chennai Apollo hospital.
Despite lodging a complaint, no action was
taken by the police.
D Pandian state secretary CPI, TN and North
Chennai constituency candidate met Alikuya
and his family members at the hospital and
offered his party’s support. He also
condemned the police for not acting on the
complaint.
D Pandian was accompanied by executive committee
member D Stalin Gunasekaran and other members. |
