While speaking to the British Foreign Secretary David Miliband on Wednesday, Sri Lanka’s defense secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa stated that there will be no ceasefire until LTTE chief Prabhakaran is captured dead or alive. This was reported by The Island newspaper in Sri Lanka.

The Defense Secretary added that the loss of lives in the combat is very dear and hence the government will ‘finish off the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam’. He also stressed that a truce now would enable the LTTE to regroup.
