Apr 14, 2009 09:45 AM

When other parties have started their election campaign in full swing, the AIADMK is still making changes to its existing list of Lok Sabha candidates. Today, the AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa replaced two candidates on the list.

The Thiruvallur constituency will now see a change, Dr P Venugopal, the Doctors Wing Secretary, will replace G K Inbaraj. Earlier Inbaraj had taken the place of R Rajan. Likewise, Villupuram (res)

Jayalalithaa
constituency also will see a change as P Murugan has been replaced by M Anandan, a former minister.

The changes were made due to some disagreement over the caste background of the two candidates, P Murugan and G K Inbaraj. It may be noted that both Thiruvallur and Villupuram are reserved constituencies.

The AIADMK will contest in 23 seats, leaving the rest to its alliance partners, 4 for MDMK, 6 for PMK plus 1 seat in Puducherry and 3 each for CPI and CPM

Though, the party high command did not ornate on the changes, it said that the changes were made under unavoidable circumstances.
