Naxals hijack train, more than 700 passengers hostage

The naxal group in Jharkhand has hijacked a passenger train running between Barkana to Mugalsarai. It is anticipated that there are more than 700 passengers on board. The rebels pulled the alarm chain and halted the train in an isolated area in Ehegara district.

The Naxals in Jharkhand are doing all they could to upset the Lok Sabha polls, during the first phase of the election which they boycott, saw some attacks from the rebel group and now they have turned towards hijacking as a means to disrupt the polls.
