DMK’s election promises

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s election manifesto was released yesterday at the party’s headquarters. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M. Karunanidhi was present at the event along with his senior party aides Prof. Anbazhagan, Arcot Veerasamy, Durai Murugan, Veerapandi Aarumugam and others.

The election manifesto contained the following important points:

Karunanidhi

The income tax ceiling for the employed, middle class, pensioners and government servants will be raised from Rs. 1.5 lakhs to Rs. 2.5 lakhs.

The Tamils residing out of the country will provided with adequate financial, social and human rights protection.

Women will be given equal rights in property all over India. It is worth mentioning here that women enjoy equal rights in property in Tamil Nadu.

The manifesto also promises to look into the 33 per cent reservation for women in the Parliament.
