the day Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu
M Karunanidhi went on a hunger strike
calling for immediate ceasefire in
Sri Lanka. Simultaneously hunger strikes
were conducted at various places across
Tamil Nadu by DMK leaders.
The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh
and other prominent leaders had called
the Chief Minister and requested him
to end the fast considering his health
condition.
