LTTE top men surrender – War coming to an end

Two top LTTE men have surrendered to the Sri Lankan army. The two, including the former spokesperson Daya Master and George, a close aide of the late LTTE leader Tamizhchelvan, yielded at Putumathalan during the flush out session out by the army, said defense ministry sources.

The Defense ministry spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella stated that the LTTE chief Prabhakaran and his close aides are trapped inside a 12-14 sq km

area. He added that the LTTE has lost all its military control and they are fighting a losing battle.

It is reported that over 81,000 civilians have escaped the war zone and the troops are now moving into the 14-sq km area where the rebels are concentrated. Anytime the army will reach the coastal land strip in north-eastern Mullaitivu district.
