Who helped Rajapakse in the war against LTTE?

The comparison of Rajapakse to Emperor Alexander and Porus to LTTE chief Prabhakran by the Chief Minister, M Karunanidhi has sparked huge controversy and leaders like PMK founder Dr S Ramadoss, MDMK chief Vaiko, Thamizhar Desiya Iyakkam president P Nedumaran and CPI state secretary D Pandian slammed the DMK chief for his speech.

Referring to the Chief Minister’s speech, Ramadoss

calling it a shameful act stated that he is writing an epilogue for the war in Sri Lanka, instead of working towards ceasefire. He also asked the state government why they have not acted vigorously in convincing the center regarding ceasefire in Sri Lanka.

Striking back at Karunanidhi, Thamizhar Desiya Iyakkam president P Nedumaran said that “The malicious intention of Karunanidhi that the Tigers will be defeated will never come true… The Tigers will win the war and the DMK chief will witness that in his life time.”

The CPI state secretary D Pandian was equally venomous in his speech, when he stated that he would like to recall history about Ambi, King of Taxila who aided Alexander in crossing river Jhelum. He said that it was Ambi who brought the defeat of Porus and asked who was the present day Ambi who helped Rajapakse?

MDMK chief Vaiko said that equating Rajapakse with Alexander is improper.
