LTTE left with only two top leaders
Apr 13, 2009 02:45 PM

Keeping in mind the Sinhalese and Tamil New year’s day falling on April 13 and 14 respectively, the Rajapaksa government has declared a 48-hour ceasefire in the NFZ. The LTTE supremo Prabhakaran has agreed to the voice of concern from various countries to help evacuate the trapped Tamil civilians in the zone. This could help move more than 50,000 people to safe destinations, it is believed.

A state run newspaper Sunday Observer stated,

Prabhakaran
“Prabhakaran has apparently agreed to a rescue mission by a western country. He has agreed to this offer after he lost all his top level leaders in the Puthukudiyiruppu battle as there is no point for him to operate there in the 'No Fire Zone' without the ability to give leadership to the remaining cadres.”

It is also understood that only two top LTTE leaders are left, the intelligence wing head Pottu Amman and Sea Tiger leader Soosai.
