Good news to ATM users. From April 1, the Reserve Bank has announced the commencement of the any bank ATM service. This means you can use your debit card and ATM in any of the ATM centers irrespective of the bank you hold account in.

This is a welcome relief to the common man who has to wait in long queues to collect their cash. It is also noted that an extra charge may be collected by banks for ATMs located outside the country.

Reserve Bank

Banks like Oriental Bank of Commerce has taken this opportunity to extend their ATM network. They have planned to open 60 new ATM centers through out the country for the benefit of customers.

Even private sector banks like ICICI have abided by the regulator’s orders.

Earlier the banks were charging Rs. 20 per transaction for an outside customer.
