Tearful homage to a noble eye specialist

Dr Tahira Agarwal, eminent ophthalmologist and wife of Dr T Agarwal passed away on April 13, she was 78.

She was instrumental in starting the Agarwal eye hospital in 1957. The hospital has branched out since then to nearly 27 centers. She had trained number of physicians in the procedures of removing eyes after death and was also a staunch disseminator of eye donation.

She has received various awards for her noble service like Bharathiya Mahila Ratna and many others.

As per her wish, the corneas of Mrs. Agarwal were donated and her son completed the transplantation successfully yesterday. Even after death, she lived upto her ideals.
