The MDMK chief Vaiko released his party manifesto at a press conference on Sunday. The manifesto highlights the implementation of Sethu Canal project, formation of separate Eelam and lifting the ban on LTTE, reservation for Muslims in education and employment, autonomy for the state, developing agriculture sector and to find a solution for power crisis in the state.

Carefully dealing with the Sethu canal project when the press asked about the difference of opinion among its alliance partner AIADMK, he stated, “In a democratic country it is not possible for the alliance partners to have the same policy and approach on every issue.” He also added that certain modifications will be made to the project without hurting the sentiments of a particular community.

Speaking high of Jayalalithaa he said, “She can deliver her thoughts to the people of India in different languages. She is a fit candidate for the PM’s post.” He also added that even though she does not have the aspirations to become Prime Minister, MDMK will raise its voice when the situation arises, vouched Vaiko.
