| Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Friday
called upon all the political parties in the state to sink their differences
and get united and fight for common issues like CET as the states
were slowly losing their powers to the Centre.
After inaugurating the first Super Specialty Hospital in the state which is on the lines of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at a total outlay of Rs 139.31 crore, the CM said that the recent issue of reviving entrance exam for medical courses was taken up by the State government through letters and personal contacts of Tamil Nadu leaders in New Delhi. “Because of the constant follow-up by the sate government, the Centre has announced that the entrance exams will be dropped. In Tamil Nadu all political parties, the allies and Opposition are fully in agreement on the issue of abolition of entrance exams for professional courses.” CM also said, ‘’The State has already lost considerable amount
of powers to the Centre over the years”. |
