  August 21, 2010 11.55 AM
Dravidar Kazhagam president K Veeramani on Friday flayed PMK leader Dr S Ramadoss for his controversial comments that none of the leaders of the Dravidian movement had the locus standi to speak about social justice and praising his own party PMK alone for consistently fought for reservation and caste enumeration.

In a hard-hitting statement, K Veeeramani recalled many past incidents in which Ramadoss had hailed Karunanidhi as the only saviour of MBCs and criticised former Prime Minister VP Singh who made efforts to implement Mandal Commission recommendations.

Veeramani said that Ramadoss entered in to politics only a couple of decades ago whereas the history of reservation dated back to the early 20th century. It was the Justice Party which was responsible for issuing the first communal government order, he said, and added that the role of DK in taking further the fight of reservation was history.
