Three brothers, who were operators of private cable television in MGR Nagar, were arrested by the Police on Sunday for telecasting pornographic films. Angry residents gathered in front of the cable TV office and ransacked it before handing the trio over to the police.

Police detained Chandrasekaran (51), Ilangovan (41) and Durai Mani (38), who have been running a cable operator service for two decades. On Saturday night, some residents were watching the Tamil movie ‘Azhagi'. Suddenly, porn clips appeared on the screen.

Angry residents rushed to the cable TV office and damaged the equipment. They beat up the three brothers before taking them to the police station. A case has been registered by the MGR Nagar police and being investigated.
