  August 26, 2010 09.45 AM

Google Inc., in a direct competition with Skype and AT&T, has decided to enable a facility which will allow its Gmail users to call telephone lines. The users can call telephones and mobile phones from their Gmail account. Google currently offers computer-to-computer voice and video chat services and this additional service is a boon to its customers.

Free calls can be made to the US and Canadian phones for the rest of 2010 while for other countries it would be a nominal charge.
