  Income Tax Act to be replaced

The Income Tax Act 1961 will be replaced on April 1st, 2012 if the Direct Tax Code (DTC) bill, which has been presented in the Parliament on August 30th, 2010, is passed.

Some of the important aspects that a tax payer has to watch out for in the DTC are income tax slabs, capital gains tax regime, tax implications on withdrawal of retirement savings and wealth tax.
