  Who was against LTTE ceasefire?
  August 23, 2010 04.15 PM
CPI (M) legislator Mahendran has denied that he ever ‘leaked’ any details of a proposed ceasefire plan between the Sri Lankan government and the LTTE to Vaiko. Reports in the media have been claiming that Vaiko, MDMK leader, was responsible for thwarting an attempt to bring about a ceasefire in Sri Lanka after CPI(M) MLA Mahendran ‘leaked him’ some details.

“The media reports are completely false”, Mahendran said in a statement on Sunday. He denied having any links with the LTTE.

“Our party has always opposed the approach of LTTE and we stand for a political solution through dialogue for the ethnic issue”, Mahendran said.
