The sate government has been requested
by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam board of trustees to order
a probe into the decisions taken by the temple administration since
2006. The board members have been in-charge of the temple administration
for several decades.
It was unfortunate that three board members were singled out in
a recent vigilance report on the Arjitha Seva ticket scam in the
TTD and its not fair said TTD chairman D K Audikesavulu Naidu after
speaking to the media on Monday.
He further said we have decided to ask the government to order a
full-fledged probe for the period 2006-10 and bring out all the
lapses, if any, to the fore. The probe will investigate all persons
who served on the board since that time”.
Interestingly, the move to invite a probe by the government was
the last resolution by the present board, which is soon to end its
term. It was written by hand and signed by all the members.
Three board members were named as the persons mainly responsible
for the black-market selling of Arjitha Seva tickets, but made no
mention of other senior TTD executives who allegedly played a part
in it the probe which was done by vigilance enforcement wing drawing
criticism from several quarters.
Several sections have demanded the government to call in the CBI
to probe TTD’s affairs after the Vigilance report, but the government
has refused to give in till now. .
