Modi misunderstood!
February 11, 2009
Narendra Modi the Gujarat Chief Minister, claims that his comment was misconstrued by the media. He suggested on Sunday, a local link to the Mumbai attack. Hardly a day is over and the CM claries that the whole statement was misread and he actually wanted to convey that such a full size operation cannot be completed without local networking.

He quoted “I have been quoted out of context. I had said that if Pakistan was doing such a big operation, then some local recce must have happened. There must have been some local networking. That is why I said that the Indian government should continue its dialogue with Pakistan, but it should also work and look into this aspect. I believe every aspect should be looked into.”

The BJP stressed here that union minister, A R Antulay who was amidst controversy for ruling out Pakistan’s hand in the Mumbai terror attack was clear in his statement, whereas Narendra Modi’s statement has been misinterpreted. It also said that, Modi wanted the look into the local logistic support point of view.

The Congress slammed the statement as being irresponsible and they asked the BJP to inform the police if they had any clues. The Congress also called for domestic unity across party lines to fight terrorism.
