Interim budget to feature omnibus fund of Rs.55,000 cr

The external affairs minister, Pranab Mukherjee will present the interim budget in the Lok Sabha today. An omnibus fund of Rs. 55,000 crores to be announced in the Parliament as part of the budget. The papers were signed by Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh and were forwarded to the President’s office. After the former finance minister, P Chidambaram taking over home ministry, Mr. Murkherjee was given additional charge of finance ministry. He met the Prime minister and discussed budget related issues on Sunday.
