There was heated debate in the Andhra Pradesh
assembly with regard to the Satyam issue.
The leader of the opposition, N Chandrababu
Naidu accused the Reddy government for hastily
ordering a CID probe into the Satyam Computer
scandal to save Raju.
Naidu further said, “When all major
laws, including SEBI, FERA, FEMA, RBI and
IT were violated and when the company's operations
were spread over 66 countries, how can the
CID investigation unearth the truth? It was
a fit case for Central Bureau of Investigation
(CBI) inquiry as the national agency could
have co-ordinated with the Interpol to probe
deeper into the scandal.”
The TDP leader also portrayed
the case as a mere shield to cover the miscreants
in the name of CID enquiry, when the case
needed a CBI enquiry. This has been done
to protect Ramalinga Raju and family, he
further commented.
Naidu insisted on a judicial
probe by a sitting judge into Satyam, Maytas
group and other benami companies that was
supposedly promoted by Reddy’s son
Jaganmohan Reddy including Heritage foods.
All rules were flouted and an immediate
intervention by the centre is needed, he
said. |
