Grammy Awards for AR Rahman

Indian music maestro AR Rahman, won two Grammy Awards for his music from Oscar Award winning film “Slumdog Millionaire.”

At the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, Rahman bagged the first gold at the pre-show.


"This is insane, god is great again," Rahman said.

His score in Slumdog Millionaire won the best compilation soundtrack for a motion picture category.

Moments later Jai Ho - the song composed by Rahman, penned by Gulzar and sung by Sukhvinder - won the Grammy for the Best Motion picture song, beating Grammy veteran Bruce Springsteen.

"Hey guys back in India. Awesome we got two Grammies again. God bless you all for your prayers. Your good wishes and love," said Rahman after receiving the awards.

“The Mozart of Madras” Rahman won two Oscar awards for his music in “Slumdog Millionaire” last year. In, 2010 he repeated that in the Grammy awards.
