Building caves in kills 11, including a child

Andhra Pradesh is not in news only for the formation of separate state, Telangana, but also for various mishaps that happened in the state in the recent days. A boat capsized twice, then the kidnap and murder of 10-year-old Viashnavi and the collapse of her father due to cardiac arrest and now 11 people were killed when a building that was under construction gave way.

All eleven people, who died in the accident, were construction workers. The rescue workers recovered all 11 bodies and four workers who were also caught under the debris were retrieved alive.

The building was located in Narayanaguda area in the city. It is a three-story building that is awaiting completion.

It took six hours for the rescue operation. The injured have been admitted to the hospital, the condition of 4 persons recovered alive are said to be critical.

It is suspected that more people could be under the debris, said the Hyderabad Police Commissioner AK Khan.

The Brilliant Grammar School building located close by was also damaged but all the students were shifted and there was no casualty reported.

The Government has announced a compensation of Rs 200,000 for the families of those who were killed during the accident.

Meanwhile, the Labor Minster R Venkata Reddy said that action will be taken on the building owner for not following building procedures.
