With the CBI announcing that it is still awaiting documentation proof of the LTTE chief Prabhakaran’s death from Sri Lanka, the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram yesterday declared in a press meet that the CBI has received the documentation confirming the Tiger’s death.

Answering questions from the reporters, the minister said, “The CBI has told me that they received documentation from the Government of Sri Lanka confirming the death of Prabhakaran.”

Prabhakaran is the chief accused in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case and the Indian Government is regularly following up with the Sri Lankan Government on the authenticated copy of the death certificate.
