An
increase in the prices of petrol,
diesel, kerosene and LPG is inevitable
says the panel formed under former
Planning Commission member Kirit Parikh.
It is anticipated that there will
be a hike of Rs 3/liter for petrol,
Rs 1/liter for diesel, Rs. 6/liter
for kerosene and Rs 100/cylinder for
LPG.
Though the recommendation will not
be accepted completely by the government,
taking into consideration the huge
hike in LPG, which the center may
restrain from, it looks it that motor
fuel prices may see a rise in the
future days.
The Oil Minister Murali Deora said
the Parikh report will be taken to
the Cabinet and the hike cannot be
delayed any more.
With the 3G radio spectrum auction
being put off, it is expected that
subsidizing motor fuel prices may
not happen in the near future.
