The
Samajwadi Party (SP) ejected two of
its top MPs, Amar Singh, Rajya Sabha
MP and Jaya Prada Lok Sabha MP. Apart
from these two top leaders, four MLAs
have also been expelled for anti-party
activities.
Amar Singh also emphasized that he
will not quit as the Rajya Sabha MP
as he has earned it and the seat was
not given as charity by SP.
With this, the speculation whether
the former SP general secretary Amar
Singh will join hands with the BSP
or the Congress has gained momentum.
But Amar Singh denied that he has
any association with either of the
party.
Though the former SP leader called
the expulsion his ‘political
nirvana’ a high profile politician
like him is sure not to retire from
active political life.
One has to wait and see what changes
this will bring to the political affairs
of Uttar Pradesh.
It is worth a mention here that Amar
Singh has already called himself the
‘face of the backward class
in the UP’.
Another close confidant of Amar Singh,
Jaya Bachchan has expressed sadness
and hurt on this issue but refused
to resign until asked by the party
to do so.
