RSS to protect North Indians from Shiv Sena

February 01, 2010 04:56 PM

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangha (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has asked its volunteers to protect the North Indians from Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in Maharashtra.

RSS is looking to prevent spread of anti-Hindi feelings.

Nearly around past 18 months, the North Indians have been in the line of fire from Shiv Sena and MNS.

Raj Thackeray's MNS had started the anti-North Indian campaign in Maharashtra and it gained momentum with Shiv Sena joining the tirade on some issues.

Ram Madhav, spokesman of the RSS, said, “There has been an attempt to foment trouble in Maharashtra with an anti-Hindi, anti-north Indian stance. We have been asked to ensure that it is checked. We will continue to protect the people.”
