Priceless jewelry of Vizianagaram Samasthanam is missing from the locker of the State Bank of India.

The elder son of Pusapati family P Ananda Gajapati Raju alleged that some of the precious jewelry was missing from the bank’s strong room. Immediately, the Endowments Department was called in for a probe and it was found that some jewelry was missing from the small box kept as well as the big box.

The jewelry was kept in the locker in the year 1957 and was checked only once in the year 1962.

The big box was shifted to the Maharaja Alaknarayan Society of Arts and Sciences (MANSAS) for verification process.

The assistant commissioner of endowments said that verification would be done with other banks for the missing jewelry and the recovery process will be initiated.
