Former
Indian Captain Bishan Singh Bedi has
said that the Indian Team has over
worked over the past calendar year
and needs desperate rest at this point.
He also lauded the Master batsman
Sachin Tendulkar’s decision
of opting out of the West Indies Tour
which consists of only four ODI matches.
The former Indian Captain said "You
can't blame the Indian team completely
for the recent performances. They
are overworked and desperately need
some rest. They may not be complaining
publicly how exhausted they are right
now, but they must be talking about
it in private. Pakistan is the new
Twenty20 champion because their players
were fresh,"
And regarding Sachin’s decision
to opt out bedi said “What is
the point of travelling all the way
to West Indies for just four matches.
Tendulkar is an intelligent man and
I give him full marks for opting out
of the series. Right now, Indian team
is missing him more than he is missing
the team,"
If players are not to be blamed for
such performances, who is to be blamed?
"Of course, the cricket board
should take the responsibility and
chalk out a proper schedule so that
the players get enough time to be
with their family and also give 100
per cent on the field," Bedi
ended.
