After
being crushed in the second ODI, the
jittery Indians take on the West Indians
in the third ODI tomorrow. The worrying
factor of the Indian camp will be
the form of their top order batsman.
With the series being locked at 1-1,
both the teams will fight hard in
the third encounter to secure a place
from where they cannot lose the series.
However the Indian camp is desperate
to make amends for their early exit
from the Twenty20 World Cup last month.
Failures of top order batsman Gambhir
and Rohit Sharma add to the worries
along with the mixed form of the Tamil
Nadu wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthick.
"We should have paid a little
more respect to the bowlers (in the
last match). The wicket was a bit
difficult, it was swinging around
a bit. We didn't judge the wicket
well and just went around playing
our strokes which really brought our
downfall," Dhoni said.
"Once you lose too many wickets
then the only thing that you are doing
is catching up. RP and me had a partnership
otherwise it would have been quite
embarrassing," he said.
The tired Indians can certainly throw
away their shoes at least for a month
since their next schedule starts on
early September with a Tri-Series
with New Zealand and the hosts Sri-Lanka.
It’s been a long journey for
the camp that showed a consistent
success over the last calendar year
till the T20 World Cup. Dhoni’s
brave hearts will be expecting to
close their long run on a winning
note to get some sort of pride for
the heavy T20 loss.
