Venus Williams proceeds to the Wimbledon finals after beating Dinara Safina yesterday. It was an easy win with the match lasting for a mere 51 minutes.

Venus smashed the Russian 6-1, 6-0 to make her way to the finals. This is the eight final for the five-time champion. She will be facing her sister Serena on Saturday for the plate.

Speaking on her victory Venus stated, “This is my eighth final and a dream come true to be here again and have the opportunity to hold the plate up.”

On contrary, to the easy win of Venus, sister Serena had to slog hard to find her place in the finals after a tight match with Dementieva 6-7,7-5,8-6.
