AICTE approves 85 new engineering colleges in TN

Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will benefit by the approval of new self financing engineering colleges, which was recently announced by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The AICTE has approved 85 new colleges in Tamil Nadu and two in Puducherry. The number of BE/B Tech seats will now exceed 1.64 lakhs in TN. With this, the total engineering institutions in TN will tally to 420.

Andhra Pradesh has 523 engineering colleges, Maharashtra 227 and Karnataka 154, according to the AICTE statistics.
