In
a move to attract business customers,
Gmail has decided to shed its ‘beta’
label. Apart from Gmail, the beta
tag will be removed from Google Docs,
Google Calendar and Google Talk. This
tag was used to indicate that the
organization is still building on
its software.
Speaking on this, Glotzbach, director
of product management for Google Enterprise
stated, “I’ve had CIOs
(Chief Information Officers) tell
me that the beta label is a real problem
for them because as a policy they
don’t deploy beta software to
their enterprise.”
With a slump in the first quarter
sheets, Google has decided on this
option.
Meanwhile, other Google products like
Chrome Web browser and Google Scholar
have already shun the Beta label.
