The National Federation of Telecom Employees staged a demonstration to protest against the proposed disinvestment plan of the profit making BSNL. The hunger strike was held in front of the Anna Salai Post office. The CPI MLAs S Gunasekaran (Sivaganga) T Ramasamy (Srivalliputhur) and T Ramachandiran (Thali) delivered the welcome speech. The NFTE general secretary C K Mathivaanan and others participated in the event.
