Sania Mirza got engaged to her childhood buddy Sohrab Mirza on Friday night after the two exchanged rings at a close door function.

The engagement ceremony was held at a star hotel and was attended only by close friends and relatives.

Some of the prominent guests include badminton player P Gopichand, Union Minister of State for Human Resource D Purandareswari accompanied by her husband, MLA D Venkateshawara Rao, Telugu film actor Vishnu and industrialist GVK Reddy.

The hotel premises where the function was held was under heavy security blanket and even media people were not allowed inside.

Sania was accompanied by her parents and sister Anam when she reached the hotel at around 6 p.m.
