A man blew up his apartment while trying to inflate his airbed. The accident occurred in the western city of Duesseldorf, Germany.

Repair solvent was used to block the hole and when air was blown into the bed using electric pump, it ignited causing damage to walls, windows and furniture in the living room.

Twelve apartments in the building and neighboring blocks were vacated following the mishap.

The man and his three-year-old daughter suffered burns in the accident.
