Big B’s office flooded

July 15 2009 07:43 PM

Flooded streets are a common scenario in Mumbai every year after the monsoon hits the financial capital of the country. And each year it turns worse than before. This year, even the posh Juhu area is not spared and guess who the victim is? None other than the Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. The Big B’s ground floor office ‘Janak’ is flooded and furniture had to be moved to the first floor.

The Bachchan residence ‘Prateeksha’ is no better as the rainwater entered the lawns. The water level is predicted to be three feet deep.

Amitabh Bachchan laments about the current state of affairs in his blog. He writes, “The road opposite (is) now a swimming pool, but the basement has a beach. As I prepare to move furniture and stuff from the ground to higher positions, mini-waves drift in from the road into the driveway and reach the first step into the house.”

Are the authorities listening?
