The
Metro Man, who was in the news recently
for the paltry pension he was awarded
by the Konkan Railways, is again in
the front as he resigned from the
post of Managing Director, DMRC after
the collapse of the metro bridge that
was under construction in Delhi.
E Sreedharan made this announcement
on his birthday at a press conference
soon after he visited the accident
site.
Speaking to the press, Sreedharan
stated, “I was in Bangalore
when the incident took place. Within
10 minutes I was intimated about it
but unfortunately I couldn't take
the first flight.”
He also added that a high-powered
committee will investigate the matter.
The committee comprises of IIT Professor
Nagal, Delhi College of Engineering
Professor B R Bose, DMRC representatives
Steve Lorie and Rajen Katharia.
Sreedharan submitted his resignation
to the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit
and the CM refused to accept it.
