Delhi Metro accident: Sreedharan resigns

The Metro Man, who was in the news recently for the paltry pension he was awarded by the Konkan Railways, is again in the front as he resigned from the post of Managing Director, DMRC after the collapse of the metro bridge that was under construction in Delhi.

E Sreedharan made this announcement on his birthday at a press conference soon after he visited the accident site.

Speaking to the press, Sreedharan stated, “I was in Bangalore when the incident took place. Within 10 minutes I was intimated about it but unfortunately I couldn't take the first flight.”

He also added that a high-powered committee will investigate the matter. The committee comprises of IIT Professor Nagal, Delhi College of Engineering Professor B R Bose, DMRC representatives Steve Lorie and Rajen Katharia.

Sreedharan submitted his resignation to the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and the CM refused to accept it.
