Durai Murugan no more PWD minister

July 13 2009 06:00 AM

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister will hereafter handle additional portfolio of PWD which was taken away from the senior minister Durai Murugan on Sunday. This was informed by a Raj Bhavan official report. However, the minister will retain his law portfolio.

The report stated that the chief minister will here after handle subjects of public works, irrigation including minor irrigation and program works which was earlier held by Durai Murugan.

Though there is no clear indication as to what caused the removal of Durai Murugan, some highly placed source link it with two projects in Cuddalore district.

Durai Murugan is fifth in the DMK hierarchy and is the deputy general secretary of DMK.

Does this mean that the minister is pushed out of the good books of the Chief Minister? Let’s wait and watch.
