Pakistan
Cricket Board(PCB) Chairman Ejaz Butt
has denied boycotting a meeting with
the Central Organizing Committee (COC)
for the 2011 World Cup.
Yesterday COC had a meeting in Mumbai
and had recommended the ICC to share
the 14 matches scheduled in Pakistan
with India (8 matches) Sri Lanka (4
matches) and Bangladesh (2 matches).
However Pakistan has failed to attend
the meeting due to various reasons.
PCB chairman is refusing the denial
to the meeting on Tuesday. He said
"No, we did not boycott the meeting,"
Butt said. "Since it is a legal
matter we do not want to make comment
on that, but I can tell you that we
are still trying to solve the matter
through talks."
He added, "We are definitely
trying to solve the matter out of
court and I am going to meet the ICC
president soon," who last month
threatened to sue the ICC, the COC
and the IDI (ICC Development International).
He also informed the reporters that
he is going to meet the ICC chairman
David Morgan either on 28th or 29th
of this month.
PCB gave an option to ICC to host
its quota of matches in UAE. But the
ICC has ruled out the possibility
of matches being staged in the United
Arab Emirates, where Pakistan has
previously played "home"
internationals.
