"Throughout
history Islam has demonstrated tolerance
and racial equality." Obama passionately
appealed to reach out to the Muslim
world through his speech in Cairo
University.
"My father came from a Muslim
family; I know civilization's debt
to Islam," he said.
The US President said: "America
and Islam are not exclusive and need
not be in competition."
"America is not and will not
be at war with Islam."
During his speech he also admitted
that 9/11 had led some in my country
to view Muslims with fear and as being
anti-human rights." "Changes
brought about by globalism made many
Muslims view the West as hostile."
He further said: "We did not
go to Afghanistan out of choice, it
was a necessity. Any nation that subjugates
will eventually fail, we must engage
in partnership."
"US has international support
to pursue Al-Qaeda," he ended.
