June 04 2009 10:40 PM

America has formally reacted to the release of Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed's release in Pakistan by a strong statement.

Being asked on the release of Hafiz Saeed, US Assistant Secretary of State Phillip Crowley said that US continues to pressurize Pakistan over bringing the 26/11 accused to justice.

"The US continues to impress upon Pakistan the importance of bringing the perpetrators of the Mumbai attack to justice and Pakistan should ensure that all those who are responsible for the attack are, in fact, brought to justice," said Crowley.

He also added saying that the US wants to make sure Pakistan is acting aggressively against extremist elements within its borders, and the military campaign in the Swat valley is proof of that.
